I could see OPs point of view. Generally when playing the game I noticed one thing. There are three times of weaponry.

Military: which included your Fat Man, Missile Launcher, Minigun, Combat Shotgun and Rifle, Laser and Plasma weaponry. Civilian: which is 10mm, revolver, hunting rifle. Then you have Slums: all pipe weaponry. It seems like there is a pretty big gap between these types of weapons, considering you find roughly all of these weapons in military locations. Where are things like your 9mm or hunting shotgun? I know this may be a bit of a trivial thing, but some people wanna use just different sorta weaponry as opposed to a bunch of pipe weaponry. Depending on what his point of view is, I could see it as well, but he doesn't give any hints to that.

I'm more interested in what he REALLY wants, than what he asked for. For instance, does it break immersion to see pre-war safes and corpses with pipe pistols?

Fallout 4 Pipe Rifle Prop

Or would he like a greater challenge? Or maybe he doesn't like the aesthetic? Each of these have much more nuanced and perfect solutions than 'remove all pipe weapons'.For instance, there is a mod that removes them from all pre-war instances, like beside skeletons and in pre-war safes. There is a mod lowering their priority in levelled lists. There is a mod that updates their look, so that they look handmade, but handmade with skill. On a second note, I would say the pipe weapons,.38 pistol, double-barrel, molotov, and lunchbox mine (and MAYYYYBE the.45 SMG, the tommy gun) are the only weapons that have an exclusively nonmilitary appearance. The bolt-action rifle and the 10MM pistol can look very militaristic, and are found as set-pieces in some pre-war military settings. Particularly, the stock modifications to the rifle and the barrel/muzzle mods on the 10mm.That assault-rifle also looks militaristic, but out of place.

I think the model is of a WW2 LMG, actually.
