Races i downloaded a year ago work fine, but any new steam workshop items i subscribe to are not showing up in the actual game. I have tried:. Restarting Steam. Uninstalling / Reinstalling GC3. Enabling / disabling mods in the options menu.
Wondering how to fill in infoboxes.- 21:42, January 26, 2010 (UTC)Just put in 'Mr. 21:46, January 26, 2010 (UTC)Simple answer: There are no robot race choices in the GECK:P 'Race' only exists for characters (i.e. Handy' or 'Floating Eye'. Humans and non-feral ghouls); the equivalent for creatures (which, in the GECK, is everything else) is called 'type' and it's simply 'robot' for all of them (other choices are 'feral ghoul', 'animal', 'super mutant' etc) - there are no subtypes.I'll leave it up to you what to fill in. Deleting the entire MyGames/GC3Crusade folder. Deleting the Prefs.ini file. Un/Subscribing to steam workshop items to try to trigger a new download. Making sure MyGames/GC3Crusade folder was not write protected.Items appear to be downloading, but races never appear in the menu when i click New Game.Is there anything else i can do? I've been trying this for hours for something that should 'just work'. Getting very frustrated.thanks in advance. When i'm on the new game / race selection screen, i click 'Steam Workshop' (or whatever) button in the lower left corner.
It opens up a web browser, not the steam client, and not any kind of in-game selector. Is this what everyone else is getting?I've tried subscribing and unsubscribing from both the web browser and the steam client with no affect. They show as subscribed and the files seem to download, but never appear in the game.I have also tried v3.0, 3.0.1 and subscribing and unsubscribing from beta builds (currently 3.0.2). Nothing has worked. The only thing i can think of doing next is the nuclear option of just uninstalling steam itself. I'm afraid that will just make things worse. I can only get the new races to show up in GalCiv3 if I use the Steam Workshop button in the race selection screen to open the Steam overlay.
I then find the race I'm missing, unsubscribe from it, subscribe to it, then click on Click here to return to game at the top of the screen. If that is what you are doing and it doesn't work, here is another possible solution. When I subscribe in Steam, all the data get downloaded to my computer, but it doesn't get transferred to the GC3Crusade directory in DocumentMy Games. This is a bug introduced recently, maybe in 3.0 or the last one before 3.0It is downloaded into C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent226860. If you go there and sort by date with the new ones listed first, you should find the missing race listed first. It will be in a folder with a series of numbers as the name.
Steam Workshop Not Loading Pages
Open the folder, then open the Factions folder to see the name of the race. If it is the correct one, close that folder. Open the folder DocumentMy GamesGC3Crusade. Go back to the folder that has a series of numbers as the name.
You should see only folders with names like Designs, Factions and ShipStyleSet. You may not get all of these, and you may get more. It depends on what is included with the race. Select all of these folders, right-click in the selected area and choose copy. Select the GalCiv3 folder in DocumentMy Games, right-click in it and choose paste. If you prefer another way to do the copying, that will work. You will be asked if you want to merge folders, so choose yes.The race should now show up in the race selection screen.I have not had to use this method, but I believe it will work.
It's just copying data from one location to another that the game uses. (sort of)SUMMARY:Game only syncs data if you have steam overlay enabled in-game.SOLUTION:. In Steam, go to: Steam Settings In-Game. Check the box: 'Enable the Steam overlay while in-game'. Click 'OK' to save settings.
Steam Workshop Won T Load
Restart Steam and GalCiv3. Start a new game and click 'Steam Workshop' when selecting a race. Subscribe and/or unsubscribe to literally anything available on the Steam Workshop. This triggers the game to synchronize assets. Click 'Return to game' at the top of the steam overlay.GalCiv3 should now say 'hot loading game data' and your goodies should now be available.@StarDock:Please consider adding an additional check for downloaded assets for persons who do not have the steam overlay enabled.
