I have an Asus laptop with a Atheros AR9485 wireless network adapter. I've owned the laptop for a year and a half and never had a problem until the last 6-8 weeks. The wireless adapter turns itself off randomly. I can be in the middle of something and my connection is gone. I click on troubleshooting and it tells me it is off, so I turn it back on and it will work for a while longer until it decides to do it again.I have disabled all other network adapters. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them. I don't know what is causing this. It all started after I hooked up a router (via ethernet) to set it up about 2 months ago.
It was only connected for 20 minutes while I set it up, but ever since then my wifi adapter will not stay on. Like I said, it happens when I'm using the computer.not just when it's idle.Any ideas what I could try? Thanks,Scott.
