MSI B450 Gaming Plus with Realtek ALC892Windows 10 x64 LTSC 1809 (has no Store)I know MSI uses the third party, bloatware, garbage known as Nahimic, but is there any way for me to have the default Realtek features (Enhancements Loudness equalization, etc.) without installing that nonsense, like on every other motherboard I have ever owned until now? Why on earth would I want to install some buggy bloatware to control features that are/should be already included by default in the Realtek driver, but are apparently disabled on MSI boards? If there is any way to get the full features back without installing Nahimic, I would sure like to hear about it. I have.the generic Realtek FF00 package. From many driver versions. I can only assume they see the MSI hardware ID and disable the default controls expecting Nahimic to be installed. One of the older versions, 6.0.1.8228 from Windows Update Catalog, actually worked for a few hours, then after a while the control panel stops working completely and produces an error in event viewer when I attempt to launch it.This is what I get with 6.0.1.8228, until it just stops working. I'm wondering what is different in this driver vs the newer ones that I can not get this default, but fully functional Realtek control panel.

Thanks for that, but all I see is 6.0.1.8581 UAD version and HDA version (my first screen shot). Both of those are 'dependent' on Nahimic as far as I can tell. Correct, any new(ish) driver gives me the MSI skinned control panel, but no effects (non-functioning launch Nahimic button) and no Enhancements tab in the Windows sound panel. Yes, I always uninstall and clean out the old version pretty well before installing the new one. They leave a whole lot of junk in the registry.I've been trying out the old 129.1 MB version from August 2017 again and it has been working for 2 days now.

Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers' For Windows 10

Maybe it stopped working before because of something else, like my USB headset (virtual 7.1 junk) drivers or something conflicting. I have blocked Windows update from force installing those, and just run the default driver for the headset, and so far the Realtek 8228 set is working again.Still, I'd like to be able to update to a newer version, if anyone knows how to get the fully functional CP out of them, I'd love to know the trick. The 6.0.1.8612 set sound really good. I put in a ticket about it, and MSI told me to install the UAD version from the support page and then get the Realtek Control Panel from Windows Store, which I suspect would be just as broken as the HDA version, but I cannot do that anyway since LTSC has no Windows Store.
